Understanding Sliders (Offense)

Well, it's looking like more and more of you are gonna have input on the sliders we use in our Od's. Because of that, I decided to put together this little guide to help you understand exactly what each slider affects and how it can be adjusted. This particular blog is focusing on offensive sliders. So here we go:

Offense

- QB Accuracy - As the name suggests, this slider affects QB accuracy, but as the name doesn't suggest this controls a lot more. You ever wonder why there's no QB THP slider? Well that's because it's here mixed in with the QB THA slider. Depending on the adjustments you make to QB accuracy, QB THP will either go up or down. This slider also affects cpu QB awareness as well. All these things will be adjusted to make the QB more/less accurate if need be. This affects anyone that's throwing the ball, not just QB's

- Pass Blocking - This slider is pretty self explanatory. This affects how well the pass blocking will be on a given pass play. If you set this too high, blockers will start sliding to be in place for the block. If you set this too low, blockers will turn retarded and let defenders just go by them unblocked. This affects anyone that's blocking on a pass play, not just offensive lineman.

- WR Catching - Just like the QB Accuracy slider, this slider does a lot more than the name suggests. This slider affects all aspects of receiving the ball, such as route running, spectacular catch, catch in traffic, etc. Turn this up too high and all the receivers on a given play will turn into Jerry Rice. Set it too low and they all turn into Barry Rice. Smile This slider affects all receiver on a play, not just the WR's like the name suggests.

- RB Ability - This slider does exactly as the name suggests, increase or decrease the ability of the ball carrier to escape/break a tackle and how effective spins and jukes are. For cpu ball carriers, this also affect ball carrier vision(BCV) ie finding the right hole. Turn this up too high and everyone is Barry Sanders, too low and everyone is Colonel Sanders. The name is a little misleading though. Other than QB's, this slider affects ANYONE carrying the ball, not just RB's.

- Run Blocking - This is another one of those misleading sliders that does more than what the name says. This slider affects run blocking on all run plays except draws. It also affects the blocking on kickoffs as well. That's why this one is kinda tricky to adjust. You may have it just right for regular run plays, but then possibly have a lot of kickoffs returned for a TD because of the superb blocking that came from your slider adjustment. In most cases, if it's possible, avoid adjusting this slider too much because it's hard finding the right spot between kick returns and regular run blocking. This slider affects everyone that's blocking on run plays, not just offensive linemen.

There you have it. Hopefully when we start to adjust our offensive sliders in our OD's we can make informed adjustments based on what I have shown you. The best way to really understand slider adjustments though, is to go into practice mode and see exactly what the adjustments are doing. look out for my next blog where we will focus on the defensive side of the sliders.

You and your fucking blogs lol.

Good explanations splff. Although I would add that RB Ability increases/decreases more than just broken tackles. It increases/decreases the ball carriers vision so that they hit the right hole and also increases their elusiveness and moves. The back will be smarter and will use and be more effective in using it's moves (i.e. juke, spin, stiff arm, etc.)

Yes, you're right for the cpu. I forgot about that part. Thanks man. I'm gonna add it in.
